Most of the time you should raise with top-pairs AA, KK, QQ and top connectors AK, AQ in order to make drawing hands pay to see flops against you. Stick to the hands. Keep most raises down to 3 times the BB in order to save money when you get re-raised or called by stronger holdings. Have respect for strong tight players, but when weak players have entered the pot, you can call and take more flops with them, because you could outplay them after the flop.  Mix up your play by calling, raising, re-raising with hands you would not usually play.   Players should try to avoid being predictable, being predictable will cost you a lot of money.
